I am thrilled to announce that Chris Brogan (@chrisbrogan) will be spending the entire day at Burlington High School on Tuesday, April 1st.
Chris is a sought-after nationally known keynote speaker, business consultant and a New York Times bestselling author. In 2012, Forbes noted that Chris’s blog, chrisbrogan.com, was ranked in the top 5 of the Advertising Age Power 150 and in the top 10 at Technorati. Over the course of his career, Chris has consulted with some of the world’s most well-known companies including Disney, Microsoft, Coke, Titleist, Pepsico, Google, Motorola, and more. He has even presented to a princess! He has written six books including: The Impact Equation, Google+ for Business, and Trust Agents.
In his most recent book, scheduled to launch in early April, The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth, Chris provides readers with lessons on how to turn their passions into a business. With Boston’s growing startup community, and some “wicked cool” businesses emerging in The Hub including Rethink Robotics, TalkTo, and Spritz, Chris will give students advice on how to turn a hobby into a potential (lucrative) livelihood. Students will also learn how they can leverage various social media platforms to build a network and accomplish their personal and professional goals.
Beyond his success as a speaker and writer, Chris is also an entrepreneur. He is the President and CEO of Human Business Works and publisher of Owner magazine. Through these ventures, Chris provides strategic advice to his clients, both businesses and organizations, on emerging trends in business, communications, and technology. His presentation style, which I can attest to, “is vibrant, humor-laden, energetic, and personal. Chris customizes every presentation to address the audience at hand, and he adjusts during the presentation to match the level of comprehension as he goes along.”
I had the pleasure of meeting Chris in person last year (thanks to the efforts of my connected students) and it is incredibly exciting that he is once again taking time out of his schedule to speak with high school students. The story of how I initially connected with Chris can be found here. All teachers are encouraged to bring their classes to hear from Chris, who will present in the auditorium, and take advantage of the rare opportunity to hear from a social media pioneer and digital media expert.
