Below you will find the slides from the BPS Edtech tech savvy parenting October event. The presentation features an overview of digital citizenship and focuses specifically on three types of online safety including physical, psychological, and reputation. There are also informative videos and live links to valuable websites, guides, and resources for parents from Common Sense Media, Cyberwise, Connect Safely, Google’s Family Safety Center, and NetSmartz. Everything you need to keep your child safe in our digital world can be found through the age specific resources we have curated. We have also included information on the latest social media tools your tween or teen may be using. To learn even more about digital safety and digital citizenship in general, we encourage Burlington parents to join the digital citizenship Twitter chat every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
We hope you find this presentation helpful and that you will join us for our November event! Stay tuned for details!
I like the way you organized this presentation without using too much of the “scare tactic”. This is a much needed resource for parents of middle school aged students. We may need to beg, borrow, and steal part of this presentation for our parent rollout meeting for next year. Thanks again!
