I’m very excited to start my eighth year at Burlington High, and we have a great group of students in our Help Desk or Tech Exploration classes as well as our Intro to Game Design class. I hope you enjoy reading the bios of our group, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic year!

Amhed Al-Ali

I learned a lot last year from creating games to drones to AI and even robots. I liked how we went on a Microsoft field trip and got to see the many things that they were working on and just how many things we didn’t know were produced by Microsoft. What has changed about my for technology is that it grew to a point where I built my own PC using my own knowledge of the PC parts. I was able to put together a pretty strong PC that can manages Unreal Engine 5 without any crashes. Speaking of Unreal Engine 5 , the game that I created on there was a startup game, but it was great because I got to learn the engine while I was creating the game. Through all of this, I learned that there is more in the world to explore in terms of technology and as I observed the struggles that the interns had to go through when they were making the drone. It really opened my eyes to just how advanced we really are from kids struggling to build a drone to there being a VR drone. And just seeing the first level of the drones just made me wonder how we make it to such advancements.

Samantha Burke

I’m Samantha Burke, everyone calls me Sammy. I’m a sophomore at Burlington High school. I’m fascinated by the complexities of technology and have chosen to involve myself in the help desk to better understand and solve tech related issues if any come up. I’m a volleyball player, I also ski, and enjoy spending quality time with friends. While my future career path is still undergoing, I’m taking in all the knowledge I can to make an informed decision in my future. So, in addition to all that, I’ve got a few more things to share. I’m a huge fan of movies and music. I can’t go a day without listening to music. I’ve got a curious mind, always eager to learn something new. I believe in making the most out of every moment. And just living life to the fullest.

Josh Cerrato

I’m Joshua Cerrato, a senior at Burlington High School, and I am very interested in the impact of technology on different aspects of our lives and professions. Specifically, I’m interested  in engineering-related applications and issues in the real world. I am also curious about games that use maps as part of their gameplay and the technology used in cartography and surveying. I decided to join the help desk because of my experience last year. I want to continue exploring various technological aspects within our school community. I’m also interested in game design with the goal of learning how to use tools like Unity and 3D modeling software. 

Nixon Carney Chun

Mi nombre es Nixon Camey soy un estudiante nuevo en Burlington High School,con mucho interés en aprender la educación. Tengo mucho interés a estudiar y aprender más  tengo interés en aprender más sobre la tecnología ya que me gusta aprender más en cosas nuevas y mucho en tecnología, me gusta aprender  mas y mucho más en tecnología ya que es lo mas que se utiliza hoy en dia en dia ya sea en casa en centros comerciales y en las escuelas ya que la tecnología está avanzando dia a dia y uno debe de aprender a saber cómo poder usarla ya Que no servirá  de mucho  en un futuro ya sea en un Trabajo y ami me gustaria aprender mucho sobre la tecnología para yo poder ayudar a demas personas ya sea que  se les dificulte por eso yo quiero esto de aprender sobre la tecnología, ya que yo tengo esta clase de tecnología espero en mi de poder aprender mucho con la ayuda de mi profesor y mis compañeros de clases y poner de mi parte en aprender. Aparte de la tecnología me gusta mucho el fútbol de pequeño me a gustado, tengo una hermosa familia de 5 

My name is Nixon Camey, I am a new student at Burlington High School, with a lot of interest in learning education. I am very interested in studying and learning more; I am interested in learning more about technology since I like to learn more about new things and a lot about technology. I like to learn more and much more about technology since it is the most used today. today either at home in shopping centers and in schools since technology is advancing day by day and one must learn to know how to use it since it will not be of much use in the future or in a job and I would like to learn a lot about technology so that I can help other people, whether it is difficult for them, that is why I want to learn about technology, since I have this kind of technology, I hope that I can learn a lot with the help of my teacher. and my classmates and do my part in learning. Apart from technology, I really like football when I was little, I liked it, I have a beautiful family of 5

Tommy Cullen

Hi, my name is Tommy Cullen. I am a freshman who is into Gaming and game design. I joined tech exploration to learn more about technology and ai. My career interests are to be a member of a sports team front office or play in the mlb. I play video games, baseball, and lots more. So if you need anything just ask me. That is all the relevant information about me and what I want to do in my life. 

Mark Delaney

My name is Mark Delaney, and I am a freshman in the class of 2027. I like sports, skiing and video games. I decided to join help desk to learn more about technology. My family has been having problems with their TV whether it’s with the speakers or the tv won’t turn on and my parents did not really know how to fix it. So they would always have me fix it. I have always enjoyed technology and messing around with it and seeing what happens. I don’t really know what my career Interests are right now other than going to college.

Mitch Devaux

I am interested in playing videogames with my friends such as Call of duty and chel [NHL].

I decided to join game design because I am interested in the video game process.

As a career I am interested in a business path. Fun fact about me is I like dogs.

Griffin Doiron

My name is Griffin Doiron and I’m a senior at Burlington high school and this is my third year doing Help Desk. Joining this class I was interested in game design because I do play a lot of video games. I’ve done a little bit of coding and I’m not too interested but I am interested in game design and doing activities with drones. I joined this class because I thought it would be a fun class because I am interested in majoring in computer science in college.

Asa Gans

I’m Asa Gans, a freshman at Burlington High School with a fascination for technology and innovation. My interests are in programming and science and technology in general, where I find a lot of opportunities for creativity. Joining this technology help desk class was a very good decision for me; it’s a great chance to have fun while experiencing, and exploring lots of technology and strengthening my programming skills. I also joined it because I want to hopefully learn more about basic things in technology I’ve never thought of before. I have a view of technology for more than just a little tool, it is a way of problem-solving and thinking. Beyond my technology centered interests, I have big hopes and desire of becoming a physicist. The Sciences, and the world of physics are one of my favorite things out there and I like exploring them just like I do technology. I’ve had technology my whole life, and I want to hopefully learn more about it and share my vast knowledge with peers, classmates, and others in the world.

Sam George

I am interested in technology and interacting with more hands-on type activities. I enjoy doing things that are hardware related but can be used alongside software like Ollies/robots, you have to code them or give them a set of instructions, and they carry it out. I decided to join help desk to have a change of pace. Instead of just coding and sitting in a computer, I wanted to do that and also interact with other pieces of technology as well. I want to go into software engineering and something related with hardware and software, but not only coding. I enjoy being active and sports. I like to play video games and I like trying out new things

Zach Hanlon

My name is Zack Hanlon. I am 17 years old and I am a senior. Some interests that involve technology are video games, like Madden, NBA 2k, and Valorant; I also like Fantasy Football, and listening to music. Some interests of mine that don’t involve technology are sports, mostly the NBA and NFL, hanging out with friends, and playing basketball and football with friends. The two main reasons I joined help desk are that I like technology, as I have a computer I use somewhat often for schoolwork and videogames, and I also have a few friends who took this class and enjoyed it so that made me all the more want to take it. Some careers I am interested in are accounting, and marketing. There’s a few more I’ve thought about a little bit but I still haven’t quite figured out exactly what it is that I want to do. One interesting thing about me is that on a Friday night I’d typically rather stay in and have a chill night with a few friends, rather than go out. Lastly, a second interesting fact about me is that going into quarantine I was just 5 ‘3, but when we returned to school I had gone through a massive growth spurt and was 5’ 10. Since then I have grown to about 6’1 and can (almost) dunk on a ten foot hoop.

Colin Irwin

Hello, my name is Colin Irwin, and I’m currently a senior at Burlington High School. I am very interested in the drones and robotics in the technology exploration room, and I am hoping to get introductory-level engineering experience working on projects with these devices. I am also interested in learning how to use technology in the production of music. I joined the help desk because I am generally interested in technology, but also because I was part of a similar program in elementary school, and helping others with technology (or learning more about it myself) was always a part of my day I looked forward to. As of right now, I am hoping to study mechanical engineering in college, and possibly eventually narrow the focus of my education towards a more specific branch of engineering, such as aerospace engineering. Outside of school, I run for the cross country and track teams year round, but I was also part of the soccer and basketball programs in the past. When I have free time, I usually spend it with my friends, family, or dog. I have also recently begun playing music again—primarily piano, but also guitar.

Shreya Iyer

Hello, my name is Shreya Iyer, and I am a senior at BHS. I joined Help Desk to provide hands-on help on technology related matters, as well as to learn  and help students to integrate technology seamlessly into their classroom experience. I know Help Desk allows students to explore various areas within technology. I am especially excited to dive deeper into learning about drones, and potentially UAVs, through various hands-on projects. I am also looking forward to understanding and resolving technical issues throughout the school, to increase my knowledge.

My interest in technology is wide-spanning due to the constant applicability of technologies to multidisciplinary fields. I have a strong interest in STEM. I serve as the Engineering Lead (for mechanical and electrical subsystems) and am the Lead Technician (during competition) on BHS’s First Robotics Team (Devilbotz). I am also the Captain of the Math League team. Last year, I took a dual enrollment class in C++  at BHS, this year I am currently enrolled for AP Computer Science A (Java), and am on the Computer Science Pathway.

I have a strong interest in engineering and am exploring various fields that are related to electrical, robotics, and aerospace engineering. I am looking forward to being a part of Help Desk this year and am hoping to both help students and learn more about technology while doing so!

Ethan Jean-Baptiste

My name is Ethan Jean-Baotiste and I am a senior at BHS. My interests in tech are computer science-related things and also the coding aspect of computers. I’ve had an interest in technology since I was a child since my father worked in computer science and had been coding since I can remember. He introduced me to the computer science world and I started developing my interest in CS from that point on. I decided to take the help desk as a way for me to learn more about other aspects of technology while also seeing in real-time how to solve technology-related issues. For my academic and professional future, I am going to pursue a career in computer science, specifically software engineering. I feel that this career choice is future-proof as this field will continue to grow and one that is very rigorous, but interesting. It is a field that you will never stop learning from. I feel that skills learned from the help desk could also apply to certain life fields, especially careers where you have to deeply communicate with people frequently.

Ciara Joacine

Hi, my name is Ciara Joacine. I am now a senior here at BHS. Things I like to do out of school are listening to music, reading graphic novels/short stories, hanging out with my friends and my family, working, and painting. I have loved painting ever since quarantine. I found an interest in drawing and painting. Most of the time when I have free time I bake or cook, but I mostly love baking. I got into baking and cooking because of my mom and my family. My mom used to make me and my sisters watch her cook so we could learn, then I just started baking and it became a regular thing because of my brothers. They love cupcakes and sweets so I always made a lot and had fun doing it. I joined the help desk because I’m interested in knowing all about technology. I feel like technology integration can expose me to various digital tools and platforms and that’s what I want to explore. I am interested in Business and Entrepreneurship because I always had an interest in producing or selling products or having my own business. Also, you can find many career opportunities within business and entrepreneurship. Other interesting facts about me are I am the last child of seven and I have 4 cats and 2 dogs.

Gunnar Larson

My name is Gunnar Larson and I am a Senior at Burlington High School. So far this year I am excited to see what we can do with the drones . I have also been interested in using the 3D printing program and printer again this year if it’s going to be available.  I am interested in potentially going to school for cyber security or a business of some type. I hope to go to Umass Amherst. I am interested in cars and hope to get a m340i in the future. 

Max Leavitt 

I decided to join because I like tech and I heard this was a good class to take. Other people said that the teacher is very nice and that also drove me to take this class. I would like to be in sports marketing or something that has something to do with sports. I play three sports at the school and I love to travel with my family.

Nolan Lopes

Hey there my name is Nolan Lopes. I am a senior, graduating in 2024. My interests are computer science, game design, baseball, and watching sports in general. I decided to join the help desk and game design because it is something that I am interested in and I heard it’s a fun class to take. I also heard that everyone that took both of these classes learned a lot about technology in general. My career goal is to do something in the business field, which is what I’m going to college for. I am excited to do intriguing activities this year in both help desk and game design.

Anthony Matos

My name is Anthony Matos, I am currently a Senior at Burlington High School (graduating in 2024). My interests are working at BCAT for sports broadcasting, cooking and learning new things about technology and the world. I decided to join the help desk because I’ve always had a passion for helping people do the right things and my interests to further my understanding about technology. Additionally, now that it has become Technology Integration, I am excited to learn new things about technology or further my understanding of what I already know. After high school, I am hoping to go to one of my dream colleges for sports broadcasting or the Cyber-security field. A couple of things I enjoy most are playing sports video games, volleyball, listening to music and drinking Dr. Pepper.

Sarah Mbabazi

My name is Sarah Martinah Mbabazi; you can call me Sarah. That’s what I want people to call me. I am interested in exploring more apps on the iPad or phone or anything learning about robotics and how they build robotics, maybe learn how to fix technology.

I joined the help desk because I am interested in learning more about technology and games. I am interested in learning about other new stuff like nursing and other kinds and I am interested in music like singing. I can play instruments whichever kind and I am interested in art, pictures, and photographs. I like singing and hanging out with friends. The best thing for me to do is to express myself to my friends which is a pretty hard thing to do but slowly by slowly I will get used to it.

Jack McFadden

Hello my name is Jack McFadden, some of my interests include sports such as football, lacrosse and golf. I also enjoy traveling with my friends and I do enjoy video games. I decided to join because I’ve always been  interested in technology and I was always more hands-on. I also had heard many good things about the class and I previously knew Mr. Wong as an amazing teacher so that also inspired me to join. I’m interested in becoming a software engineer because they make a lot of money and are in high demand. I also think it would be cool. Some other interesting things about me is I have a rather large family with over a 100 living members, my family has come from all over the world. My grandmother is from South Africa, my father is from England, so I have living relatives in Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Ireland etc. With my family having over 100 members it’s nice because you always have someone to rely on with lots of them being in America. Another interesting fact about me is I drink a gallon of cranberry juice a day. 

Will Morrison

Hi, my name is Will Morrison and I am a junior at Burlington High School. Things I’m interested in include watching and playing sports like hockey, basketball, and golf. I also throw javelin and discus on the track team. Outside of sports I like to play video games and go to the gym with my friends. My career interest is exercise science which is what I want to study in college. I joined the help desk because I wanted to try something new and because I’ve always been interested in different types of technology. 

Bobby Nevola

I’m Bobby Nevola and I am a senior. My interests in games are nba2k, cod and gta. Other interests outside of games include playing football, basketball and lifting. I’m on the football team here at school and I have been since freshman year. Last season I tore my ACL and was out all year and I’m still out to this day. I decided to join both help desk and game design because I feel as if I could excel in a new subject for me. I felt as if it would be cool to learn a new subject that is very different from all other classes I have taken in the past. Another interesting thing about me is that I love music. 

David Coughlin

My name is David Coughlin. I am a senior at Burlington high school. My interests are mostly sports, my favorite being hockey. I play for a full season team called the Islanders. I also like to play roller hockey with my friends. I chose this class because I have taken multiple computer science classes and enjoyed them. I have taken computer science programming 1 and computer science principles AP. I also have a little bit of interest in possibly pursuing a career with something computer related and I feel that I can learn a lot with this class. My favorite subject in school is usually my science class. I really enjoy doing experiments and working with others. One fun fact about me is that one of my eyes is two different colors. 

Lidia Perez Armas 

Hola soy Lidia Perez una de las estudiantes nueva en este país y en la  , tengo mucho interés en la tecnología y me gusta aprender cosas nuevas sobre la tecnología no se  mucho sobre eso pero quiero aprender mas sobre programas y aplicaciones y siento que es una herramienta de trabajo y estudio muy  importante en estos momentos  mas q antes y aprender más sobre eso me gusta y ver los avances que tiene la tecnología que cada vez son más grandes y usarlas como una herramientas para ayudar a más  personas que lo necesitan y espero ser parte de proyectos tecnológicos y me esforzare para aprender todo lo que vemos en esta clase 

Y en un futuro especializarme en estos temas y usarlas como una y herramienta y poder ayudar a otras personas y poder enseñar lo aprendido, me emociona mucho aprender más sobre esto ya que nunca había tenido una clase de este tipo, me gusta mucho y pondré de mi parte para aprender todo 

Por que en estos tiempos la tecnología es una necesidad básica para cualquier persona en el trabajo, en clases o el cualquier lugar del mundo y agradezco la oportunidad de aprender esto q es muy nuevo para mi 

Hello, I am Lidia Perez, one of the new students in this country and in the country. I have a lot of interest in technology and I like to learn new things about technology. I don’t know much about it, but I want to learn more about programs and applications and I feel that it is a tool. work and study is very important at this time more than before and learning more about it I like and seeing the advances that technology has that are getting bigger and bigger and using them as a tool to help more people who need it and I hope to be a part of technological projects and I will strive to learn everything we see in this class

And in the future, specialize in these topics and use them as a tool and be able to help other people and be able to teach what I have learned. I am very excited to learn more about this since I have never had a class of this type. I really like it and I will my part to learn everything

Because in these times technology is a basic need for anyone at work, in classes or anywhere in the world and I appreciate the opportunity to learn this which is very new for me.

Jackson Powers

My name is Jacks Powers. I am a senior here at Burlington High School. My interest in tech is pretty simple. You could call me an avid gamer. I tend to play xbox from time to time. Also I know my way around a computer pretty well. I decided to join intro to games design and help desk because I heard they were both relatively fun and interesting classes. My career interests are more trade based but If I were to go a different route I would definitely want to get into some type of computer sales. Some other interesting things about me are I play hockey and golf for the highschool teams and I enjoy hanging out with friends and family and I consider myself a handy person and an outdoorsman.

Shaunak Rembhotkar

Hi! My name is Shaunak Rembhotkar and I am currently a senior here at Burlington High School. Technology has always been a part of my life and some of my earliest memories are on the computer. As for my career goals, I am interested in pursuing a bachelors in computer science. With society rapidly advancing, I enjoy taking on new challenges and have a passion for making society a better place. Additionally, with the advancements of AI, I hope to one day work with artificial intelligence and help people make their lives more efficient and fulfilling.

 In my freetime, I’m an avid game developer; I enjoy scripting in GTA V and on my freetime program competitively as a hobby. I joined the help desk to learn more about technology and help others with any problems that they may have whilst also benefiting the community and giving back to BHS. While I’m not programming, I run for the cross country and track team, something that I’ve been doing for about four years. I really enjoy the outdoors, meeting new people, and spending time with nature. 

Cedric Rodriguez

My name is Cedric Rodriguez and I am a senior at Burlington high school. I joined the game design class to play and learn how to create games. My interests in games are most likely NBA 2K and Fortnite. My favorite 2K was NBA 2K20, my favorite season in Fortnite was season 4. For career interest I am interested in doing business or accounting when I enter college. Other things about myself is that I am a captain for the basketball team here at BHS, and I have 2 older sisters.

Connor Shanahan

My name is Conor Shanahan, I’m a sophomore at BHS. This is my first year doing help desk as an elective. My interests include video games, volleyball and having fun with friends. In my spare time I’m usually out with my friends or doing something with them like video games. I have alway found a liking for technology but I always wanted to learn more about technology. I have played video games my whole life and would love to see how they work and how they were made. I know how important technology is in current day society and all the opportunities it offers. I haven’t decided on what I want to do after high school but knowing a little more about technology should help me achieve my goals. There are so many job opportunities that deal with technology. I learned a little bit about coding last year and I would like to expand my knowledge. I would also like to know how to help friends and family members with technology related issues. 

Jason Sheehan

My name is Jason Sheehan,  and I’m a junior in high school. I play video games with my friends, such as NBA 2k, GTA or Fortnite. And I enjoy watching tv. Some of my other interests are basketball, football and hanging out with my friends. I’ve decided to join the help desk because it seemed like an interesting class to me that not a lot of schools have. I want to go into trade for my career because with trade these days it seems the most successful and that’s what I want to be when I get older. So I would want to either go straight into trade or college after high school. I’m not sure what to major in yet though. Some other interesting things about me are that I used to play football and I’m getting my license soon.

Jake Sloan

Hi, I’m Jake Sloan and I am a junior at BHS. I like to play video games such as NHL 23,

Fortnite, NBA 2K23, and I also enjoy watching YouTube videos. In my free time I enjoy

playing hockey, lacrosse, lifting, and hanging out with my friends. I joined help desk this

year because I want to understand how to use technology so if there are any issues with

my own or friends’ technology then I could fix it. I have also joined this class because

technology has always been something that I have had interest in because I like to play

games as well. I am very interested in doing something business related as a career in

the future. I have always wanted to do something business related ever since I was in

middle school.

Sam Sneider

Hi, my name is Sam, I am going into my junior year of high school at BHS. My interests in help desk is to learn more about game design because I like video games, I also like to hang out with my friends and play sports. I decided to join the help desk because I’ve only taken business electives at BHS and would like to experience a technology class. I would like to pursue a career in business and hope that helpdesk can advance my technology knowledge because I think it will be very helpful later on.

Briana Ssozi

Hello, my name is Briana Ssozi. At Burlington High School, I am a senior in the class of 2024. I really love watching shows on Netflix that include any genre, and I’m also constantly reading and listening to music. It’s my go-to activity when I’m free. I’ve recently developed an interest in technology despite having no prior experience. Despite my lack of experience, I am eager to learn about technology and all of its possibilities. I joined a help desk to gain more knowledge and experience with technology. This is an incredible opportunity for me. I can learn about technology while also assisting others with their technical problems. In the future, I want to be a doctor, a lawyer, and a computer scientist. These jobs are super interesting to me because they help people while also making our society a better place to live.

Adam Templin

Hello, my name is Adam Templin, I am currently a freshman at Burlington High School. I’m interested in computer games and 3D printing. Most games I play have always been on the computer. I think it’s interesting how games are created with coding and other technology. I have a 3D printer and have made a few useful things for around the house like a battery holder. Right now I download designs from the internet and use them to create things. My goal is to learn how to create my own designs and share them for other people to use. I decided to join the help desk because I like to help people fix problems they are having with their devices.  My career goal right now is to take over my dads business. I hope to learn more about business and marketing so that I can help with the business operations and help on the jobs. A few other fun facts about me are that I like going to the gym, I like exotic cars and hope to own one in the future. I have two dogs, their names are Olive and Daisy. I like shoes and have a small collection of them. I like to travel and enjoy spending time with my family in California. 

Pranav Vadali

Hello, my name is Pranav. I am currently a freshman at BHS. My interests are art, more specifically drawing, playing video games, going on walks, and playing sports such as badminton. I joined the game design class because I am interested in game design as a hobby or activity to do in my spare time and from what I have seen it looks quite enjoyable and is something I want to try to see if I can do. I myself play lots of games and making one for others to play and enjoy would be really awesome. I joined the class hoping to learn how to bring my ideas into a game and to learn more about computers and technology. In terms of career interests, though I am not completely sure yet, I am interested in becoming an engineer or pursuing a career in some type of computer science related field. I have always been interested in this field and hope to learn more about it in this class.

Angel Villagran

I’m Angel Villagran and I’m a senior. Some of my interests in the technology industry are hopefully making some apps or websites and starting my own business. When I was young I would always want to make my own game like Call of duty and I still plan on doing that one day. Later down the road my career interest is mostly in the business field but I also wanted it to involve some technology like I want to create something that would help the world. Some other interesting things about me is that I’m a big person on cars so I’m very passionate about that and I’m very passionate about the gym staying healthy. My brothers and my cousin were in the military so I’m very interested in the military as a career too. I decided to join help desk and game design just to learn more about technology since I’m not very good at it and I’ve never taken a class on it before so I decided to take it the last year of my high school career and see if I could be passionate about it and continue with it in the future and then as a career 

Sulaiman Zai

My name is Sulaiman Ali Khan Zai. I am in Grade 10 at Burlington High School. I have a genuine passion for building things, especially when it comes to mechanical projects, and I’m deeply fascinated by generative AI. My decision to join this class stems from a similar experience I had in 9th grade when I took a robotics class at my previous school. It was a pivotal moment that solidified my interest in technology and mechanics. In terms of my future career, I’m considering a path as an experimental psychologist. The intricacies of the human mind have always intrigued me. Alternatively, I’m also drawn to electronics and the endless possibilities it offers. Beyond my academic pursuits, I find enjoyment in activities like drawing and exploring the worlds of manhwas and webnovels. In joining this class, I hope to strike a balance between expanding my knowledge and collaborating with others who share my passion for technology and innovation.
