Help Desk Live: Episode 5

Join us Friday, March 7th from 11:30 to 12:00 p.m. for Episode 5 of Help Desk Live! In this week’s episode, show hosts will be Nathan and Amit. Our focus will be on Google Glass in educaiton. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to talk with three Google Glass Explorers and learn how they are integrating Glass into the teaching and learning process of their respective schools. Join the BHS Help Desk student hosts as they gain inspiration and ideas on how to use Google Glass in the classroom.

Margaret Powers @mpowers3

MAGGIE POWERS:
Our first guest is Magaret A. Powers. Margaret works as a Lower School Technology Coordinator at a private school outside of Philadelphia and is documenting her experience using Glass through her 365 Days of Glass blog. Margaret works with teachers and students in PreK-2nd grade. She is passionate about integrating technology into the classroom and exploring ways to use technology as a tool for global collaboration, communication, and creation.

Our second guest is Aaron Maurer. Aaron is an enthusiastic educator joining the Help Desk for Episode 5 from Bettendorf, Iowa where he works as a middle school teacher and instructional coach. Aaron has been experimenting with Glass in a variety of creative ways and has documented his use of Glass through podcasting, videos, and through Twitter using #GGEE (Google Glass Education Experiment). We are excited to hear about Aaron’s Glass experience and talking with him about ways the device can be integrated into a middle school setting. 
Lisa Palmieri, Ph.D. @Learn21Tech
LISA PALMIERI, PH.D.
Our next gues is Dr. Lisa Palmieri. Lisa serves as the Director of Technology & Innovation at The Ellis School, an age 3 through grade 12 Indpendent Girls’ School located in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania (@theellisschool). Lisa is a board member of the Online School for Girls (@OS4G) and was named the Non-Profit CIO of the Year. Lisa is interested in engaging girls in maker education and STEM. We are excited to talk with Lisa about the unique ways she is experimenting with Glass in her learning community!
