Scheduling Assignments in Google Classroom

Screen Shot 2016-05-04 at 10.33.50 AMThe Google Classroom team has once again added a feature that provides even more convenience for teachers. This latest update allows teachers to schedule their assignments. Teachers can create an assignment as normal and rather than select “assign” or “save draft” they now have the option to select “schedule.” Be sure to set a due date for the assignment before selecting “schedule.”

As with every new update to Classroom, scheduling assignments literally takes seconds to learn and is shown in the one minute and thirty second screencast below. We’ve also included a screenshot so you can see what a scheduled assignment looks like prior to posting it in the stream.

Now, if you know you want your students to receive an assignment in the Classroom stream first thing on a Monday morning, you can create that assignment Friday afternoon, schedule it for Monday, and enjoy your weekend! This is also an ideal feature if you are going to be out of your classroom due to illness, professional development days, etc.

We hope the Classroom team will continue to develop this product and allow teachers to be even more efficient. We’ll continue to provide updates as new features are launched.
