Paul Barbieri and LeRoy Wong review the iPevo Interactive Whiteboard. Overall, we believe that it’s a good product and much more cost-effective than traditional whiteboards. Here is our summary of what we saw. Thanks to Dakota Irvine for his contributions on this review.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Handy
- Multiple Accessory tools (Projector/ Document Camera)
- Light Weight
- Portable
- Great for a teacher “on the fly”
- Especially foreign language teachers that typically do not have their own room
- Not a lot of parts
Cons:
- Possibly not as durable
- Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the current smart boards
- Slightly difficult to calibrate
- Using it on a Chromebook is more limited (can only use the whiteboard function and can’t use it over browser windows)
Summary:
Convenient in the sense that it is very portable, cheap and adaptable. It may not be as reliable as a smart board, but it does offer more resources to teachers who do not have access to technology to the extent that Burlington High School does. The Ipevo overall is a great device and has many pros, that I feel outweigh the cons. For the right person, the Ipevo is a great tool that should be utilized by most teachers.
