Google Apps for Education

Burlington Public Schools is entering its fourth year as a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) district. All students and teachers have access to a powerful suite of web-based, collaboration, creativity, and communication tools including:

Drive & Docs (Forms, Sheets, Slides, & Drawings)
Sites & Blogger
Gmail & Calendar
Classroom

And although we are a 1:1 iPad district, our students and teachers also have access to Chromebooks, making our 1:1 learning environment even more powerful. This year, all of our teachers at the elementary level will have their own Chromebook and they are also available to students in grades K-12. Google apps will continue to serve as the foundation for technology integration in Burlington, and with the addition of Google Classroom, workflow, communication, and the creation of digital classrooms will become even easier.

Teacher Chromebooks

This area of our blog is dedicated to providing students and teachers with helpful resources on all GAFE products. In addition to the tutorials and guides contained in this section of our blog, members of the Help Desk program, as well as the Burlington Instructional Technology staff, are available daily to assist teachers and students with integrating GAFE into the curriculum. We also encourage our parents and community members to learn more about the power behind Google Apps for Education and what it means to be living “in the cloud.” The video below highlights in less than two minutes the advantages of being a GAFE district.
