I am pleased to announce the BPS Edtech November Tech Savvy Parenting Night:
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH 5:30-7:30
Converting to the Cloud
Converting to the Cloud is the November BPS “Digital Bootcamp Series” event and is designed to educate K-12 parents on the latest trends in educational technology.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR:
Tuesday, November 18th
Library Commons at Marshall Simonds Middle School from 5:30 to 7:30 PM
Our focus will be on all things Google. Come and learn about how students in Burlington Public Schools are using Google Apps for Education to communicate, create, and collaborate with their teachers and classmates. This evening will be a FUN, interactive, hands on session where parents will have the opportunity to experience “life as a BPS student.” You will have the opportunity to learn about and explore the same technology tools your son or daughter uses in Burlington. You will receive an introduction to many of the apps in the Google education suite including Gmail, Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Calendar, Sites, Blogger, Google Classroom and more! Members of the BPS Instructional Technology Team, as well as members of the Burlington High School Help Desk staff, will be available to show parents how they too can “Convert to the Cloud.”
Registration is Free! RSVP Today!
Registration for this event is free, however for planning purposes, we do ask that you RSVP through Eventbrite and indicate the number of people who will be joining you (your children are welcomed at attend as well). Please bring a device with you to the event (laptop, tablet, Smartphone, etc.). If you do not have a device, please contact Jenn Scheffer, BPS Mobile Learning Coach, at jscheffer@bpsk12.org and she will arrange for you to have a device for the evening.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, November 18th!
