Renee Dacey, BHS World Language Department Head

We are pleased to feature World Language Department Head Renee Dacey as our Teacher Profile for the month of December. Mrs. Dacey has been teaching in a 1:1 iPad classroom for the past four years. Thanks to her leadership, the entire World Language Department at BHS has embraced using the iPad in the classroom and it has had a tremendous impact on instruction and assessment. In fact, the BHS World Language Department has evolved into a model for other schools looking to develop a 1:1 program. Many foreign language teachers throughout the state and beyond have reached out to Renee and her colleagues for advice and support regarding teaching in a 1:1 classroom.

In the video embedded below, Mrs. Dacey shares more details about how she specifically leverages the iPad, the decision to no longer support a PC language lab, and her go-to iOS applications for teaching foreign language including Adobe Voice, Show Me, iTalk Premium and more. Additionally, the video provides a glimpse of what it’s like to be in Mrs. Dacey’s classroom. This is a must watch and share for teachers and school leaders who are working towards a 1:1 model.

Stay tuned for our continued Teacher Profile series in 2016!
