Meet the 2022-23 First Semester Staff!

We are excited to be back and hoping that things will continue to be back to “normal.” We have another excellent group of students at Help Desk and my Intro to Game Design class. There are some exciting conferences and events we’re planning to present at and/or attend, and we’ll share more information about those events during the course of the year. We are looking forward to a great school year.

Khael Alcider (also in Game Design)

My name is Khael Alcider, I’m now a senior at Burlington high school. My interests include developing new games, playing video games, football, basketball, and almost anything to do with technology. The reason I decided to join help desk is because I had heard multiple great things about the class. I also want to participate in a new experience involving technology. When I grow older as an adult, I would love to play professional sports while having a career in cyber security as well. As most know I play football for the highschool and we recently got a new coaching staff this year. With a new coaching staff came a new playbook, a new field, and the program being turned around. I’m very excited for my last season of highschool football. A little fact about me that most people don’t know is that I was actually born and raised in Palm Bay, Florida. A large number of my peers had thought I lived in Massachusetts all my life. Another fact about me is that most people think I’m older than I actually am, some may think I’m 18 going on 19, but the truth is that I turned 17 less than 2 weeks before I began my senior year. I am looking forward to my final year of high school, although I am a little nervous to head off to college but when that time comes, I’ll be ready for it.

Wesley Agojo

Hi, my name is Wesley Agojo. I am a senior at Burlington High School. My interests are playing video games, working out, and helping my parents with their technology problems. I decided to join the Help Desk class because I want to apply the troubleshooting skills that I learned at home to people who need help with their technology problems. I have always had problems with my wifi connection, storage management, glitches, and more. But now that I learned how to troubleshoot them, I want to help others who have those same problems. Since I like working with computers, I want to major in computer science and get a job that deals with it. More about myself, my love for technology was when my parents got me a PSP when I was a kid. That was when my passion for video games started, and from there it made me explore more technological stuff. Watching tutorials on how to manage games, troubleshoot game problems, and download cosmetics. Then I realized I could do the same with technology itself, not just video games.

Ragad Al Sarabi

Hi! This is Ragad. I’m currently a senior at Burlington High School. This year I’ve so much stuff to work on. One of my goals for this year is to explore technology and be able to help people with their technology issues. Technology is everywhere and now it’s developing and becoming more and more a part of our lives and it’s changing the world for the better. I joined the help desk because I want to get more familiar with technology before I go to college. In the future, I’m thinking about studying software engineering. Learning new things and helping others is something that I’m looking forward to doing. Since I’ve to choose what I want for my future this year. This might be overcoming challenges. However, My dad has always been my number one supporter. He’s like a friend to me more than a dad. He’s a good listener, a life mentor, and he’s always here for me whenever I need him as well as my mom and I love them for that.

Mihir Balsara

Hello there, my name is Mihir Balsara and I’m currently a senior here at BHS. Technology has played a significant role in my life and I can’t help but notice just how impact technologies are in my everyday life. In my free time, I enjoy to making applications, designing websites, and I even sometimes dabble with game design. Aside from technology, I’m also a part of the cross-country and track teams. I joined Help Desk to further my knowledge of varying electronics while also being able to help the school and my fellow peers with issues they may come across. Additionally, I love being able to work on side projects to shift my focus away from solely academics to something more tech-based. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in computer science or aerospace engineering; both fields are very interesting in their own ways, and because there can be overlaps between both, I hope to combine the two in some way, shape, or form in my college career.

Nick Barrett

My name is Nick Barrett. I’m currently a senior at BHS. Things that I like to do outside of school are listening to music, playing video games, and driving/working on cars. Growing up I’ve been around cars and my grandfather and my dad working on them, so I picked up liking cars from them. When i’m playing video games or driving I always listen to music, to me it’s one of those things that will never get old. I wanted to join help desk to be able to learn more about technology and be able to help people with their technology when they need something fixed. After high school I plan on going to a trade school and I want to learn how to become an electrician. Electricians are never going to go away and are only going to become more important.

Benito Biju

Hello, my name is Benito Biju and I am a Senior. Some of my interests include playing video games, watching and playing sports such as football and basketball, and even computer science/coding in my computer science classes. Technology has always interested me throughout my whole life, and is part of the reason why I decided to join Help Desk. Being able to experience hands-on with different pieces of technology, such as the drones we will be flying in class, learning about how we can troubleshoot issues on iPads, and how Technology influences our daily lives. After high school I plan on going to college, and major in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. I have high hopes for Help Desk, and believe that it will be an fun, but also important class that I will take this year.

James Burke

My name is James Burke, I am a senior at Burlington High School. Some technology I am interested in would be video games. I like to play multiverses and a lot of fortnite! Other interests include hanging out with my friends. I love to do everything with them. I also love playing sports whether it is for fun or competition such as soccer and volleyball. I joined the help desk this year to get more familiar with technology before I go to college. I am interested in working companies that use computer science in the way they work around programs, whether it may be coding or just working with computers in general. Other interesting facts about me include that I like to meet new people everyday and be outgoing.

Isaiah Burley

My name is Isaiah Kwagala Jonathan Burley. I am in my Senior year, I have attended Burlington High School all four years, and have also been going to Burlington schools since kindergarten. I am interested in game design, and coding a little bit. I made my own little game last year on code.org. I am really proud of that game and hope to finish it this year. Well the main reason I joined was because Mr. Wong is the teacher, but it seems as if I can actually get something out of this. Also being able to go around the school and help others seems interesting. Well my main goal is to become a successful YouTuber, I have a YouTube channel, OneHugeBond. It’s a YouTube group with all my friends. There are 9 of us, and we make videos of all different categories. Another career I am interested in is becoming a teacher. I’m not sure what subject that I want to teach, but I’d like to teach at Burlington High School. Other things I like are anime, music, basketball, and video games. My favorite anime is Beyblade Burst, but One Piece is a close second. Favorite music artist is Chris Brown, but also my brother j3miah. My favorite basketball players are LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Lastly, my favorite video games are Brawlhalla and Mario Kart.

Daniel Chaves

Hi! My name is Daniel Chaves. A senior at Burlington High School. I was interested in joining Help Desk due to the opportunities it would provide to me such as learning more about technology. I was interested in learning more about how to troubleshoot common issues and how to determine the scale of potential problems and how to fix them. I am very interested in learning about how things work and function not only with technology, but everything else in our modern world. I also recognized that there was an opportunity to learn more about drones, a hobby I want to get into. Drones are a fascinating piece of technology, but good quality ones are too expensive to justify their costs to an average enthusiast like myself. Outside of school, my technology interests are video games, building computers, and learning about new technologies. I like to custom-build technology for the purpose I need it for, and then use that technology in a fun and constructive manner. Career-wise I am interested in pursuing a master’s in cybersecurity. I really like the investigative part of cybersecurity and using technology to help reduce weak points, set up secure networks, and even once in a while catch cybercriminals.

Michael Damato

Hi, I’m Mike Damato and I am a senior at BHS. I like to play video games like Madden 23, NBA 2K23, Fortnite and Fall Guys.These games bring me great joy. I am intrigued by technology and took help desk to learn more about mainly computers and drones. As of now, I do not know much about technology but am very open to learning as much as possible. In my free time I enjoy playing football, basketball, lifting, being with family and hanging out with my friends. Another thing I like to do is travel. My favorite place I have visited is Aruba. I am interested in doing something business related as a career in the future. I have wanted to do something business related ever since I was in elementary school. I plan on studying business in college next year as well. I have high hopes for help desk and am expecting to have a ton of fun and learn a lot this year.

Sebastian D’Amico (also in Game Design)

I am Sebastian D’Amico. I am a Senior at Burlington High school. I have a big interest in technology hardware and software. I built a computer this summer after wanting to for a long time now. I decided to join help desk to have a deeper understanding of how to troubleshoot and explore how technology can positively affect society. I plan on going to college next year for computer science and potentially pursue a career in cyber security or game design. I also have interest in planes and would one day like to fly a small plane myself. I also have interest in working on car repairs and doing things like oil changes and brakes.

John DeVito

My name is John DeVito, I am a senior at BHS and my interests include Computer Science and Programming as well as playing videogames. These topics interest me because I think they will be used more than ever as technology advances. The reason I joined the help desk was because I wanted to learn more about how the devices we use everyday operate and how to fix them and to just gain knowledge in things I do not know a lot about. I look forward to becoming a programmer or coder at a videogame company so I can make my own videogames one day. In my free time, I like to go to the gym, hang out with my friends, and play videogames.

Griffin Doiron

I’m Griffin Doiron and I’m a junior at Burlington high school and this is my second year doing Help Desk. Joining this class I was interested in game design because I do play a lot of video games. I’ve done a little bit of coding and I’m not too interested but I am interested in game design and doing activities with drones. I joined this class because I thought it would be a fun class because I like technology.

Tyler Duggan

Hello my name is Tyler Duggan and I am in the class of 2023. I am interested in sports and video games. I play football and boxing and play NBA2k. I enjoy these things because I can play them with my friends. I also enjoy the competitiveness of these games. I also find technology interesting so I am excited to learn more about it in help desk. I took this class because I heard it was enjoyable.

Dakota Ellis

Hello my name is Dakota Ellis. I am currently graduating this year in the class of 2023. I am interested in learning history in a lot of stuff like the history of technology and battles in the American Civil War and beyond. I decided to join the help desk to learn more about technology. I wanted to learn more about drones and robots. After Highschool I am looking forward to enlist into the United States Navy, and work on an Aircraft Carrier. I am currently on the Cross Country team. I am also looking forward to the winter and spring season to be able to run again with the Burlington Track Team. Help Desk this year is going to be fun.

Jackson Filosa

My name is Jackson Filosa. I am a senior at Burlington high school. This is my second and third time taking help desk. I play football after school and sometimes play video games and watch tv. My favorite show is Breaking Bad. Some video games I enjoy are Call of Duty, NBA 2K, and Madden. I have a pet dog named Riley and I’m the oldest in my family. I grew up in Burlington my whole life. I like watching the Celtics and Patriots. I like playing basketball for fun with friends. My favorite movie is Grown Ups and my favorite food is chicken wings. In the future I hope to do something with business or technology. The main reason I took this class is I wanted to be more comfortable with technology and being able to help myself and others with their common technology issues. I also would like to know how to code more and fly drones more. We learn a lot about how technology is changing and growing and it’s helpful for the real world when it comes to technology.

Jacob Frost

Hi, my name is Jacob Frost and I am a senior at BHS. Some things that interest me are video games, playing hockey, hanging out with friends, and cars. I decided to take Help Desk because Mr. Wong is my favorite teacher and I like learning about what goes on in his class. A career interest I have is eCommerce/drop shipping/Amazon FBA. This career path interests me because in today’s society, unless you want to be working 9-5 like the average person, these methods are a good way to make money.

Ryan Gedick

My name is Ryan Gedick. I am a senior at BHS and a two year veteran of the help desk. The main reason I decided to join the help desk this year is because of the great experiences I have had in this class in the past and the paths that it opens up. Another reason this class is a good fit for me is because we all have a shared passion for video games and technology. My current career path is to work as a plumber for my fathers company. As you could imagine there is not actually a lot of technology in plumbing. However, that does not mean that I can’t take this class and enjoy it. One out of school interest I have is cars. This is something that does actually involve a lot of technology. From the sound systems of the car to the transmission and the touch screen on the dash, there are hundreds of technologies to be found throughout a car. In the help desk this year I hope to dive a little deeper into that and learn what kind of technologies keep cars running. I look forward to a good year at the help desk.

M-E Gendron

My name is M-E Gendron. I am a Senior at Burlington High School. My interests outside of school are playing basketball, singing and working at Market Basket. I decided to join the Help Desk because I am interested in learning about technology and how to create music. My career interests are working at Market Basket full time after graduating high school. Some interesting facts about me are that I love my family, eating ribs from Chili’s and I play the rack in BHS Marching Band

Aiddin Hayes (also in Game Design)

My name is Aiddin Hayes and I’m a senior here at Burlington high school. A couple things in technology I’m interested in is playing video games such as NBA 2K, Madden, and I also enjoy watching YouTube videos as well. Some of my other interests are playing football and basketball and taking trips to Maine which is where I used to live before I came to Burlington. I joined the help desk class this year to get a better understanding of technology before I graduate and head off to college, as well as helping people fix their issues with technology. I’ve also joined the game design class because I think it will be pretty interesting to me because I like to play games. In the future I plan on pursuing some type of career in sports whether it’s being a coach or a personal trainer, or even an equipment type of person. And some other interesting facts about me are that I like to hang out with my family and cousins, going swimming, boat rides, and tubing at my old house in Maine.

Brendan Janis

My name is Brendan Janis, and I’m a senior here at Burlington High School. I have a variety of interests in technology, ranging from drones to video games. The one thing I dislike about technology is what happens behind the scenes with coding and programming, because it’s very complex and difficult to comprehend. I knew that the help desk would be a great opportunity to learn more about technology and participate in things I enjoy such as flying drones and playing different games. I’m interested in a career in either the medical field or business field. I love to play sports such as hockey, lacrosse, and golf. I also enjoy being around my friends and family, and I like to meet new people and try new things.

Altamas Khalifa

Hi, my name is Altamas Khalifa. I am a senior at Burlington High School. My interests are mostly in lifting at the gym, I like to spend most of my time in the gym, I also have an interest in technology. I joined a help desk so that I could learn more about technology and how it is used in this world, and also so that I can make changes to the world with technology. My interest in my career is to become a computer engineer and work with tech. So that I can make change in the world and help as many people as possible with technology. Some interesting things about it is that, During my free time I’m usually in the gym working on myself and becoming a better version of myself. I also like to watch action packed and mysteries on Netflix. So yeah this is pretty much about me. I’m always working to be better.

Evan Kim

My name is Evan Kim and I am a senior in high school. I enjoy using technology for entertainment, such as video games, and find it very helpful in terms of productivity and schoolwork. I wanted to join Help Desk to learn more about troubleshooting problems with various technological devices, learn about some coding, and just grow in my general knowledge of technology. I also find it kind of fun trying to solve problems. In the future, I hope to go to college and maybe go into a job like design because of its creative aspect, or a computer science field because it is a more modern job that seems to be in high demand. In terms of other interests, I enjoy making art and I participate in track during the winter and spring doing high jump, hurdles, and pole vault.

Joe Machado

Hi. My name is Joe Machado and I am a senior at BHS. Ever since I was younger, I have loved technology. I was able to fully understand how to use a first generation iPad at only 5 years old. Ever since I was younger I also loved video games and I play many different genres of them such as sandbox, shooter, adventure, and many more. I have also recently started to get into coding and learning a variety of different languages for programming. Another thing I have recently started to really enjoy doing is building computers. I watch countless videos on YouTube about people talking about PCs and it influenced me to help people (mainly family and friends), either pick out a prebuilt PC or actually help them BUILD their own computer. I decided to join the help desk because my main goal in life is to help as many people as possible, in any way possible and a lot of people have problems with tech, and I know a good amount about tech so it would only help me reach my goal better if I joined help desk to help people. After I graduate high school, I plan to major in computer engineering and have a minor in computer science. Essentially, I am able to design and program my own hardware that I create! Another interesting thing about me is that I am actually Burlington High School’s AV Technician. This is because I am the Sound Technician for the BHS stage crew and as sound technician, you have many responsibilities outside the musicals and plays, so I am responsible for running the audio for assemblies, town meetings, and many other events in and outside of Burlington High.

Anthony Matos

My name is Anthony Matos, I am currently a Junior at Burlington High School (graduating in 2024). My interests are working at BCAT for sports broadcasting, cooking and learning new things about technology and the world. I decided to join help desk because I’ve always had a passion for helping people do the right things and my interests to further my understanding about technology. After high school, I am hoping to go to one of my dream colleges for sports broadcasting or engineering (specifically Civil Engineering). One thing I enjoy most is listening to music and drinking Dr. Pepper.

Bryan McLaughlin

My Name is Bryan McLaughlin and I’m a senior at BHS. I like to play video games like MLB the Show and PGA Tour 2K. I joined help desk because I like to learn about new technology and how it works. I’m also very interested in drones. I enjoy playing basketball and hanging out with my friends in my free time. I’m not sure what my career interests are yet, but I do plan on going to college to further my education.

Tisa Patel

My name is Tisa and I’m a senior at BHS. I was terrible at using phones, computers, and anything online because I didn’t grow up in that environment because I was born and raised in India, where technology meant much more than just screaming. I’d love to study as much as I can now that I’m in the United States. However, I also want to assist those who, for whatever reason, are unable to use technology. I am highly interested in technology and am constantly learning new things so that I can use technology on my own in the future. I choose to enroll in the help desk course because I want to learn and assist other people. Unfortunately, I’m not pursuing a career in technology because I actually enjoy science and want to work in that field. Even though this isn’t my area of work, I still want to learn more about how everything online operates, grasp how to utilize a drone, and learn the fundamentals that I don’t know much about. After moving to the USA, I usually played games, even though sometimes I was pretty bad at them. The important thing is that it is based on technology.

Rithikh Prakash

Hi, My name is Rithikh Prakash and I am currently a senior at Burlington High School. The main reason I joined Help Desk is because of my interest in computer science and technology. I am already somewhat knowledgeable in programming, but with the landscape of technology being so vast and constantly evolving, I know I have a lot more to learn. I believe that Help Desk can aid me in that process by providing access to exciting technologies such as robots like Pepper, drones, as well as the knowledge of Mr. Wong and those around me, while at the same time allowing me to help my peers. I plan to study computer science in college and believe that this class will really assist me in the future. Outside of school, I have been our Student Council Treasurer the past 4 years, volunteer at the Burlington Public Library and as a tennis volunteer through the Recreation Department in the summer, and work as a local soccer referee. I have also been a member of the track and field and cross country teams here at BHS, since my freshman year, and plan to continue to run at the collegiate level. Most importantly, I am looking forward to having a great year in Help Desk!

Thomas Quinn

My name is Thomas Quinn and I’m a senior at Burlington high school. I took this class sophomore year and really enjoyed it so I decided to take it again my senior year. My main interests are golf and hockey. I play hockey for the town and I love to play golf with my friends. I’m not a huge fan of video games but I do play them sometimes. When I play I usually play either PGA tour 2k21 or NBA 2k. I love to watch football with my friends and we usually have a fantasy league. My career interests are business. My dad works at Putnam investments in the finance department and my brother just graduated and he was studying marketing and communications.

Mason Robson

My name is Mason Robson, and I am currently a senior at BHS. This is my third year doing Help Desk with Mr.Wong. I first joined the help desk sophomore year because I wanted to learn more about technology and coding/programming. So far in the Help Desk I have got to learn about drones, spheros, coding and other technology in depth giving me a better understanding of them, and I am looking forward to continuing learning more this year. One of my biggest hobbies involving technology would be gaming. I play games on my xbox and PC with my friends. Some of the games i play are NHL, 2k, valorant, warzone and fortnite. Some of my other hobbies outside of school are golfing with my friends, basketball and working out. After high school I am looking to go to college for business. For possible career interests I am looking for something business related or maybe involving computer science. I am hoping to have a good senior year and I am excited to learn more about technology in the Help desk.

Eric Sekyaya

My name is Eric Sekyaya, and I am senior in the Class of 2023. I love playing video games and tinkering with computers and other technology until I figure out that tinkering with things is all a passion of mine but I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad. I want to help others as well as learn more and new things. I don’t know what I’m going to do in college yet maybe I can have an idea after this class. I am captain of the basketball team and state champ in cross country. I also run a lot in my free time. My favorite color is black and my favorite food is chicken tenders of course.

Simran Singh

My name is Simran Singh. I am a senior at Burlington High School. I was born in Atlanta

Georgia and my family and I moved to Burlington. I have lived in Burlington for almost 10 years.

My interests are playing basketball as well as soccer. I used to go to the help desk in my

freshman year of high school. I decided to join the help desk again because I wanna learn more

about technologies plus I wanna learn how to code. I haven’t decided what my career will be but

my father is a software engineer. Maybe one day I’ll follow his footsteps into becoming one. I

have a lot to think about. Hopefully God will guide me in the right direction.

Marcus Tucci

Hello my name is Marcus Tucci I’m currently a senior at BHS and I’m interested mostly in sports. I play wrestling and I like to lift and skateboard in my free time. I decided to join Help Desk even though I am not very good with technology because I want to get better at it because the future is in technology and it is a skill that will be useful later in life. So far I am not sure yet what careers I am interested in doing but I know that whatever I do I will do good at it, I am thinking about going to college undecided unless I decide that a topic really interests me. Some interesting facts about me you might not know is that I have an older sister and a younger brother, and I like the color blue.

Lukesh Mishr

I’m Lukesh Mishr and this is my 4th year here at BHS. So much pressure one me but I’m so excited for the end of the year. Ever since I was younger I was fascinated by technology and games. I remember playing games on the Wii which used the movement of the controller to play games and it was so cool. Now I intend to make those games and share my ideas with the world. I want to share my personal take on fun in the world of gaming. After HS I plan on taking a gap year to study abroad before I go to college and start the final chapter to the beginning of my life.

Michael Nocella

My name is Michael Nocella, and I am a senior at BHS. My interests lie in video games, basketball, football and breaking bad. I like lots of video games, ranging from single player rpgs to multiplayer fps games. I love watching basketball and I have a fantasy league for football so I pay attention to football quite a lot. I decided to join game design because I would love to be able to learn the basics of making video games in order to possibly create a game I have been wanting for years. My interests in the future for my career are extremely varied, I would love to study biology, open up a restaurant, or make video games. So, I’m going to go to college for biology, while in my free time teaching myself more about the creations of games. I extremely love listening to basket case by Green Day.

Priya Patel

My name is Priya Patel, and I am a senior in high school. I love to play video games, paint and read. I decided to join the Introduction to Game Design class because I am interested in games and want to join the field one day possibly. Working at a big game company to develop the next Legend of Zelda or League of Legends games would be amazing. Other than that, I highly enjoy listening to Arianna Grande and Childish Gambino and hope to see one of them live one day.

Nick Reyes

My name is Nick Reyes. I am currently a senior at BHS. I’m happy to help anyone who has a problem that I can assist with and always enjoy a joke. Technology has always interested me and I like to use many kinds of it. Some examples are using my PS5, listening to music or simply just using my phone. My interest started when I enjoyed playing games with my friends. Since then I have always been wondering how these amazing games are made and how long they take. Because I find working with technology enjoyable, the class will help me gain more knowledge about it. I hope to learn how to fix any problems that occur during the games I make and make new memories. In the future I hope my career ends up being a biologist. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family and late night drives.

Harbir Singh

My name is Harbir Singh but everyone calls me Nav. I am currently a junior. I’m interested in technology because nowadays technology is the number one thing people rely on. Without technology the world won’t be the same. To keep technology going I wanted to learn how to fix things on my own. I like to build computers because it’s fun and I learn a lot of things while doing it. I decided to join the help desk this year because I’ve had many issues with my personal and school devices. Instead of asking for help I want to learn how I can do it on my own. After high school I want to become a computer engineer because I love working with computers and I have fun while doing it. Another interesting fact about me is that I make music as a side thing. I find it fun because my friends and I mess around while making music. The past two years of high school have been different because freshman year I was fully remote and sophomore year we had to wear masks. It didn’t feel like an actual school year but things are getting better and hopefully this year will be normal and better.
