We’ve had a busy first month or so back at school, and I’m pleased to have yet another great group of returning and new students at the Help Desk. We participated in our first drone competition last year with STEM-ED, and we hope to build on our experience to soar to even greater heights when we enter the same drone competition. We’re already learning and preparing for Computer Science Education Week which will take place during the second week of December. We’re looking forward to another fun and productive year.

   Hi, my name is Sahen Bongo. I am a sophomore at Burlington High School. My main interests are playing video games like Roblox, Spider-Man, Rocket League, Minecraft, Fortnite and Fall Guys. Hello, my name is Hayden Bruno, I am a Junior at Burlington High School. My interests are soccer, basketball, video games, music, skiing, problem solving, and spending time with friends and family. I decided to join the help desk because it seems like the next step in my stem focused career, which I find to be mentally stimulating and generally very interesting. I also have an interest in computers, whether it is work or home computers or gaming systems, they have always just seemed very interesting and I would like to know how they work some day.In the future, job wise I would like to follow after my Mother and Father to become an engineer.  However, if this path for some reason does not work out in my favor to not become an engineer of some kind, someday I would like to do some kind of job that includes stem, such as a programmer. Other interesting things about me are that I love the Boston Celtics and love to watch their games. Another thing is that I have a special connection with my father. He inspires me to work hard and helps me when I need it. I also have two cats, and two dogs.

educate myself more about technical skills. I don’t know too much about technology but

 My name is JT Doherty and I am a senior at Burlington High School. I am interested in sports, video games, music, learning, lifting, and lots more. Hello, my Name is Ryan Piscatelli. I am a junior here at Burlington High School. I have always been interested in video games since I was little. My name is Aaron Miner, and this is my senior year in high school. My interests include gaming, reading fiction novels, often fantasy or dystopian, and learning about black holes. I chose to join the game design class because I have always found games fun to play but wanted to know how to make my own. Taking this class felt like the perfect place to start as I have a structured opening to teach me the ropes and afterwards I can teach myself the more advanced specifics of game design that I may need. In the future I hope to be a robotics engineer which although may not directly require the use of unity, I could use my knowledge here to run simulations or even just make games as a hobby. I decided to join the game design class because I enjoy playing games and I’ve had some experience with coding in the past. My career interests are to be a manager or maybe do something in finance. I enjoy video games, sports, and movies. Games I play include Madden, Forza, GTA, and Spider-Man. Hello, my name is Nathan Melanson and I am currently a sophomore with a graduation year set for 2027. After school, I follow my passion for playing soccer and tennis. I play for Burlington High School, soccer during the fall and tennis during the spring. On the technology related side, I enjoy gaming Madden and Fortnight on the Xbox. I find it impressive that we live in a time period in which technology is easily accessible and it enhances our daily lives.

My interest in technology had led me to select Technology Exploration as my elective this year. The primary reason I joined the program was to better understand how technology functions and how other people apply technology to their daily lives. After high school and college, my goal is to pursue a career in engineering. Although I am unsure of what engineering field I want to work in, I know that I love identifying and creating solutions to problems.

On an unrelated note, a fun fact about me is that I work at Goldfish Swim School. I am a swim instructor and a certified lifeguard. Another fun fact is that during the summer, my favorite hobby is to relax on the beach.

Overall, I am excited to start my sophomore year, especially due to the fact that this is not my first year at the high school. Last year I was a freshman and I found it challenging because I was new to everything. I look forward to a better and brighter year.

Hello, my name is Luqmaan Shaikh, and I am a senior at BHS. I joined the Help Desk program because I wanted to provide hands-on help with technology-related matters and assist students in integrating technology into their classroom experiences. The opportunity to work directly on technical issues and explore different areas within technology is something I find incredibly valuable.

One of the aspects of Help Desk that excites me is the chance to expand my knowledge of troubleshooting and problem-solving while making a meaningful contribution to the school. I look forward to understanding and resolving various technical challenges, which will not only help others but also enhance my own understanding of technology.

My interest in technology is broad because of its impact across multiple fields. This year, I am taking AP Computer Science A (Java), which has shown me the vast potential of computer science. I am particularly fascinated by the rise of artificial intelligence and its potential to transform many industries.

Beyond my interest in computer science, I serve as the Vice-President of the Helyx Club, a STEM organization focused on bio/chemistry. In this role, I am passionate about promoting STEM and engaging with others who share my interests.

My name is Sarah Abbas. I am a junior at Burlington high school which I’ve attended all three years of high school after moving here in 2022. I’m interested in expanding my knowledge of technology since it’s been developing at such rapid rates recently. At the moment I don’t know much about the mechanics of the technology around me but that’s why I took this class to hopefully improve my understanding. I want to be able to not only educate others but also help them if they face any issues with their devices. Outside of school I don’t have too many hobbies outside of hanging out with friends and working. I currently work as a pharmacy technician at CVS. My name is Jaiden Mohan Monestere and I am a junior in high school and I am taking algebra two, world history, meteorology, geology, business law and ethics, and Help Desk. My interests are bodybuilding, and watching sports. I have had a passion for working out for about seven to eight months. I love going to the gym to socialize, to put on muscle and just because I overall enjoy the full experience of working out and especially the results that come from it. Next year I want to go into anatomy class so for the future I can attend a two or four year college in order to get a degree in exercise science, or sports medicine.
