November Tech Savvy Parent Night

The BPS Edtech Team is pleased to announce our November Tech Savvy Parenting Night (TSPN) will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:00 pm in the Marshall Simonds Middle School Library Commons. As we did for our October event, which can be viewed here, the focus of our November TSPN will once again be cyber security. This event is part of our ongoing Digital Bootcamp Series and we are fortunate to have leading November’s session Burlington resident and cyber security expert Gerald Beuchelt.

4/28/21 UPDATE: Please note that this is a more updated link for Demandware which is now Salesforce Commerce Cloud: https://www.salesforce.com/products/commerce-cloud/overview/

Gerald Beuchelt is currently the Chief Security Officer for Demandware and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the corporate information security governance and management framework. Prior to this position Gerald was a Principal Software Systems Engineer at MITRE. Where he focused on cyber security, advanced web services, and identity management technology. He was the chief information security architect for the US Air Force Air Operation Center (AOC) Modernization program, focusing on the development and implementation of the overall information assurance, including security engineering, configuration management, and certification and accreditation.

Gerald will be joining us in Burlington to share his experience and expertise on device management and the iPad in particular. He will help parents gain a clear understanding of iPad settings, parental controls, and strategies for keeping their children safe whenever they are online or using iOS applications. Parents attending the event are encouraged to bring their iPads to this hands-on, interactive session. There will also be a Q & A session that will allow parents to ask any and all of their cyber security questions. On behalf of the BPS Edtech team, we look forward to seeing you on November 18th.
