Last Friday, January 22nd Help Desk seniors Timmy Sullivan, Josh Boulos, Don Boermeester and junior Kevin Lynch traveled to Harvard Business School in Cambridge where they had the privilege to participate in Learn Launch’s Classrooms of the Future, a showcase of sixteen schools delivering progressive and unique learning opportunities for students. Timmy Sullivan encouraged conference attendees to visit our booth and learn more about the Help Desk program by delivering an Ignite Talk which is embedded below.
After hearing the inspiring overview of the Help Desk program, Timmy, Josh, Kevin, and Don spent the remainder of their time at the conference explaining the Help Desk curriculum, how they are assessed as members of the program, and offered their perspective to teachers, principals, and administrators on how they can develop a student help desk program of their own.
The Learn Launch conference was another excellent opportunity for Help Desk students to develop authentic communication skills and articulate exactly what it’s like to support the students and teachers of our 1:1 iPad high school. Once again, the Help Desk students represented Burlington Public Schools with professionalism and proved themselves as educational technology leaders in a classroom of the future!
